Power Ballads

Major news update! All sorts of good stuff coming for Aqueduct fans in 2024. I committed to myself at the start of the year to bring more Aqueduct music into the world, and I'm excited to share some of those plans here:

My debut album, Power Ballads, is getting a first time vinyl & digital release at the end of July. Long out-of-print, and full of foundational Aqueduct songs, I'm excited to be reinvigorating the Aqueduct Vinyl Project with this release! It's been really cool to revisit this album: remastering for vinyl & reconfiguring the artwork from CD to grand 12" format. If you were lucky enough to have picked up a copy of Power Ballads at Aqueduct shows over the years, then you already know. Everyone else can enjoy this first track feature for 'Post Rock & Slightly Seasoned', now streaming over at Rock & Roll Globe. Stay tuned for more Power Ballads vinyl pre-order, coming soon!

Honored to have 'Hardcore Days & Softcore Nights' included on the limited edition vinyl release of Live at The Crocodile Cafe: Back to Belltown. Latent Print Records has curated 2xLPs worth of excellent live music from this legendary Seattle rock club as recorded by their longtime sound engineer, Jim Anderson. His entire library of Crocodile recordings from 2004-2007 have been donated & immortalized at the University of Washington library.

Aqueduct Wild Knights

John Cougar Mellencamp said it best…or maybe it was Van Morrison ;) THE WILD KNIGHT IS CALLING!!!! Answer the call and get AQUEDUCT WILD KNIGHTS HERE!

I am unbelievably excited to be releasing my new album today July 14th 2015, on what will be remembered as a truly historic day. Just as Wild Knights has been 8 long years in the making, the irony of the passage of time is not lost on me this day…

  • Harper Lee’s Go Set A Watchmen released today 55 years after after her first and only novel was published.
  • US & the World reach a landmark nuclear proliferation agreement with Iran, a deal taking over 15 years to reach.
  • NASA’s New Horizon Spacecraft passes Pluto, the last planet in our known solar System, on a 10 year, 4+ billion mile journey.
  • Aqueduct Wild Knights is released to the world, first new album since 2007

Okay, Okay, maybe that’s throwing myself in with some pretty big company, but for me, Wild Knights is an enormous accomplishment that I am honored to be releasing to very wonderful and patient fans! The new album is available on Vinyl, CD or Digital and can be purchased directly from me on the Aqueduct Bandcamp site or from other digital outlets.

Seattle get ready for the big album release show this Saturday night 7/18 at the Tractor with Bardot & The Echolarks! I can’t wait to play some of these new Wild Knights songs live. It’s going to be a hot one for sure. Get your tickets now...before they get you!

I am astounded to announce that City Arts Magazine in Seattle has made Wild Knights July’s album of the month! On the heels of the Ballad Of Barbarella track premiere in late June, Jonathan Zwickel gives a beautiful and honest review of the band, the new album, and himself really…I’m humbled to have this piece be the first big feature for the new record. Read all about it here.

Thanks tons to the AV CLUB for premiering the track "Paranoid Much" off the new Aqueduct album Wild Knights. The Onion & AV Club have been big fans of Aqueduct in the past and I truly appreciate their continued show of support!

NEW, NEW, NEWS - 11/7/14

There’s a lot happening in the Aqueduct realm and I’m excited to share all the news…

In two weeks I’ll be releasing “Denny Park Summer”, a new album of solo piano material. Recorded live at Denny Park in Seattle last August, the album will feature a new song, a few classics, and a couple of covers. It’s been a while since I’ve released any music and I’m excited to remedy the situation by making this album a free release on the web.

More new music to follow in early 2015. I’ve been hard at work mixing new material that is shaping up to be an EP & LP’s worth. Stay tuned for more info. Aqueduct has joined Soundcloud, creating a place to preview new songs/samples & post sounds that float my boat! Check it out, I’ve uploaded one song from “Denny Park Summer” to preview the upcoming release.

...and, If you’re in the Seattle area I’ll be singing Police songs with the Seattle Rock Orchestra at The Moore Theater tomorrow night 11/8.

Get your tickets here.

Aqueduct Piano

This summer, for the first time, Seattle presents Piano in the Parks. The Parks Dept. have teamed up with various partners to place 20 pianos outside at 20 local parks. To highlight this ingenious idea, KEXP has asked musicians around town to donate a performance at one of the Pianos. KEXP will film the performance to preserve online in their archives. After checking out the rad Piano Art and visiting a few parks, it was just too hard to choose. I've decided to do two short Aqueduct solo sets at two different parks.

Wednesday, August 13th
PIER 62/63
8:00pm - Sunset Performance

Sunday, Aug 17th
Denny Park
4:00pm - Afternoon Show

Please join me for these special performances of Aqueduct songs (and maybe a cover?) to celebrate this truly awesome and unique community art project.

MIXING IT UP - 5/6/14

Barsuk Records

Ole~! ...It's back to Texas again, and I'm excited to be entering the final mix phase on the new Aqueduct album. I certainly have taken my sweet-ass time, but the record is taking a beautiful shape. I know in my heart that this is the best music I have ever recorded, thanks in no small part to Matt Pence down in the Echo Lab. I can't wait for everyone to hear!!!

For you Pacific Northwesterners, lookout for a live show! My dear friends from the Seattle band the Catch (OG Lineup) have planned a fun show at the Crocodile and have asked Aqueduct and Tennis Pro to join in. Really looking forward to this sure-to-be-unstoppable rock show on Wed. June 25th + it'll be just like old times! Stay tuned for more info in the show between now and then.

JUST ANNOUNCED: Aqueduct & Ra Ra Riot will be capping the Barsuk 15th Anniversary Festivities, Sunday November 10th at the Sunset Tavern in Seattle. We're honored & excited to be a part of what is sure to be a rowdy show!

IT'S ABOUT TIME - 8/9/13

Aqueduct is headed to the heartland for a Texas Style Recording Adventure. We'll be working with superstar engineer/drummer/collaborator Matt Pence (Centro-matic) at the Echo Lab in Denton, TX. It's been a long time since Aqueduct has recorded there…hell, it's been a while since we've released a record. We plan to do in 2 weeks what has been building for far... too... long...

When we're close to home Aqueduct is going to play a few pop-in shows 'round OK & TX. We love us some hometown crowd, so come and get it!

Attention Pacific-NorthWesterners!! Our good friends from the band BOAT have coaxed us out of the garage and onto the stage, for two shows in March, in celebration of the release of their new album "Pretend To Be Brave".

Aqueduct will join BOAT & The Quiet Ones at Barboza in Seattle on Saturday, March 2nd. Two weeks later, on Saturday March 16th, BOAT & Aqueduct will take Portland by storm at Mississippi Studios with help from Shelly Short.

We're excited to debut some new tunes we've been working on as well as "rock the classics". We might just play our cover of the title track off the new BOAT record...

...oh yeah…We recently covered a BOAT song (in the style of Aqueduct), that will be featured on cassette, with the first 100 pre-orders of "Pretend To Be Brave". Other contributors to the companion release, Fishboy, Throw Me The Statue, Sea Navy, Math & Physics Club, John Roderick and many more, round out a re-imagining of the entire new BOAT album.

Aqueduct will join bands The Lonely Forest, Yuni In Taxco & Telekinesis (solo), on Friday, Nov. 2nd for a FREE SHOW at Neumos in Seattle. Our efforts will be to help get out the vote for a couple of state politicos, Inslee for Governor & Cantwell for US Senate. Come show your support, hear some great music & have a good time!

It's been a hot minute since a news update, but Aqueduct is indeed alive and well and coming to a Portland, Oregon near you! After many months holed up in the studio working on fresh material, Aqueduct will surface to play our first show in what feels like forever. We're excited to be supporting our friends at the Normise Organization along with several great local Portland bands on Friday, Aug 24th, to play a benefit concert for Haiti Youth Arts and Education. Go to NORMISE.ORG for more information or to donate to this fine organization.

Aqueduct Normise
